August is Children’s Vision and Learning Month
August is National Children’s Vision and Learning Month!
We need your help in spreading the word.
Did you know…?
- 20% of school children have uncorrected vision issues
- 80% of all learning is presented visually
- Up to 60% of kids with learning disabilities also have vision-related issues
- Eye Screenings uncover only about 50% of vision issues
Vision is so much more than seeing 20/20. Our eyes need to be able to track accurately, switch focus reliably and we need to be able to use our eyes together as a team to process visual information properly. But, most parents, teachers, and medical professionals are unaware of these functional vision issues.
Help us increase awareness about learning-related vision issues.
